I don’t think there is anything on earth I love more than the sight of cherry blossom in the Spring. I can fully understand how the Japanese venerate these fragile blooms as I feel exactly the same. They raise your spirits with their beauty whilst reminding you of the fragility of life – here for a second, then gone forever.
I took these shots during one extraordinarily sunny day this March in St James’s Park, London and they remind me of an impressionist painting by Monet. Quite apt I feel as he used to come to London quite frequently, staying at The Savoy London of course. I feel he might agree with me.
